I am a Kallunâk (settler) writer and anthropologist living in Ktaqmkuk (St. John’s, NL). My work examines settler colonialism on Indigenous lands.
Since 2001, I have worked on Indigenous-led research with communities in Labrador. I have written several books, including A Long Journey: Residential Schools in Labrador and Newfoundland.
I am an independent researcher and an adjunct professor of Anthropology at Memorial University. I am also a kayaker, a hiker, and a mother.
